Where can I find Hungarian paprika?

Question: I use to live in Europe, Austria to be exact. While living there I enjoyed a lot of Hungarian foods seasoned with paprika. I have tried to recreate them here in the States but the paprika isn't the same. Does anyone know where I could get some Hungarian paprika? I live in Wisconsin close to Minnesota and visit Michigan a lot. Does anyone know of ethnic food stores nearby where I live?

Answer: The Hungarian paprika sold in supermarkets is a pale imitation of the real thing. It's good for coloring food, but doesn't really give you the great paprika flavor you need. I don't know the area you live in, so I can't recommend any local stores, but you can get "real" Hungarian paprika from Bende.com. They appear to be in Vernon Hills, Illinois, but have a website.
